Illegal Border Crossing - Crisis Levels

http://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/malcolm-poor-asylum-seekers-dump-expensive-electronics

While this forum does not like referring any credit to publications withe the word "Sun", it appears this one is the only one writing about such politically sensitive topic and is likely to be an important election issue and topic of debate in 2019.

It appears, Plattsburg, NY is the new Ellis Island, NY.

"...While many of asylum seekers are desperate and downtrodden, others appear to be more well-off. One of the families that arrived and crossed illegally into Canada while the Sun was at the border was carrying several pieces of expensive suitcases with airline tags.
The tags’ label said PBG – the airport code for Plattsburg International Airport in upstate New York. There are limited flights that take travelers to this airport, with flights mostly originating from Boston and various cities in Florida.
While news reports typically say that most migrants take the bus from New York City to get to this illegal border crossing, others fly from different parts of the world...."

As if A Lack of Action on A Pipeline Expansion and an Uncertain NAFTA Agreement Are Not Enough, Canadian CEOs Are Waking Up to Additional Liberal Taxes: Whose Interests Do Justin, Morneau and the Invisible Jim Carr Have?

"....The chief executive of a large Canadian company said he was at a Vancouver board of trade dinner this week.
“The level of foreign investment has never been so low and continues to fall off a cliff. There is a real, genuine, honest, non-partisan concern that Canada is so completely out of touch with the real world,” he said..."

How Ontario Liberals Made Billions On Debt Disappear

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/video-how-ontario-made-billions-in-debt-disappear/

With All Legal Power, Consultation Results and Environmental Studies At Their Feet, the Liberals Have, Of All Things, "Uncertainty" To Blame

Yes he actually said that.  Full marks for being at least "visible" during this conflicting time between BC and Alberta. A little more rehearsed in his wording (at least not rushing for a flight), but still nothing to say, add or clarify about the pipeline expansion through BC.  With all the power to put this pipeline expansion in motion, Jim Carr blames "Uncertainty".  Huh?!

Troubles Brewing With The Aecon Bid? As Investment Canada Act Tries To Figure This One Out, Liberals' "Closed For Business" Lack of Action On Pipeline Is Not Helping

Now trading at a 10% discount to the $20.37 all cash bid announced in October. It is now April with a delayed July approval deadline now.  Not looking good...

Ottawa Picks Its Battles - Investigates RBI Over Tim Horton's Acquisition, Yet No Action On A Pipeline...???

The federal government says it is reviewing concerns raised by some Tim Hortons franchisees about the potential violation of terms Ottawa placed on the Tim Horton's acquisition by Restaurant Brands Inc. (now owner of Burger King, Tim Horton's and Popeye's Chicken), a Brazilian-based company.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/federal-government-investigation-franchisee-complaints-tim-hortons-rbi-1.4617661

And in place of the formidable "Innovation Minister" Navdeep Bains (again, what does an Innovation Minister do all day?), his spokesperson made the announcement about investigating allegations that have flown in the face of the Investment Canada Act (as it relates to foreign acquisitions of Canadian entities, a "net benefit" for Canada must be assessed).

How will this play into the acquistion of Aecon by China's CCCC? The deadline, like the pipeline, has been kicked further and further down the road.

The Latest Winner in Marijuana Sales - What Kind of Coffee Will Second Cup Be Selling in the Future?

Dude, Where's Jim Carr (Part 3)? Morneau's More Polished Words Continue to Promise Nothing and Leave Canada "Closed for Business"

More polished but empty words after Jim Carr has been just shy of being the invisible man with this file and after Trudeau has been siletn. At the five minutes mark
"...ensures the project will move forward in a very short timeline...." means stall making a decision beyond 2019 election "....we know that this is a federal jurisdiction...we don't need to refer something to the Supreme Court of Canada when we already know it is a federal jurisdiction..." means no WARRANTED,
PROPER, APPROPRIATE, SUITABLE or LEGAL action will be taken

Kevin O'Leary: "Wake Up Canada - You’re Losing Big Time"

Love him or dislike him, his words must be heard.  Especially on the heels of what has just happened between the B.C., Alberta and federal governments rendering Canada "closed for business".  Kevin O'Leary does not beat around the bush in terms of this Liberal government's "leadership".  Well said, great charitable work @kevinolearytv

Dude, Where's Jim Carr? (Part 2): You know it's bad when even the media scrum finishes with "seriously?!?"

The arrogance is unable to be turned off. You know it's bad when even the media scrum finishes with "seriously?!?". Where did Natural Resources Minister Jim Carr urgently and actually have to fly to? And why was it so urgent that knowing he would be faced with dozens of questions, this flight had to be booked at this time?

Way to Go Premier Horgan, Helping Other World Oil Producers: The Rules Are Always Different Beyond Them Thar Hills (Rockies)

How is this fledgling B.C. provincial government even a government? @jjhorgan

Good luck B.C. with your higher gas prices, carbon taxes that are willfully taken on as opposed by other provincial governments, likely higher unemployment and even higher housing price inflation.

http://business.financialpost.com/commodities/energy/the-many-ways-b-c-premier-john-horgan-is-wrong-about-trans-mountain

"...Horgan said there should be no retribution against B.C. for the collapse of the Trans Mountain expansion because “the Energy East pipeline was stopped and there was no consequences from that. The Keystone XL pipeline was stopped and may well begin again, and there was no adverse consequence as a result of that. It is my view that British Columbia should have an equal say to other jurisdictions when these projects come forward.”
The Energy East pipeline was not federally approved when it was cancelled. The Keystone XL pipeline was spiked by U.S. President Barack Obama’s permit denial. In contrast, the $7.4-billion Trans Mountain expansion has been approved both by Ottawa and B.C., after meeting five conditions laid out by Clark. Horgan doesn’t seem to grasp the implications of messing with a lawfully approved project..."

Dude, Where's Jim Carr? Liberals Doing A Commendable Job Of Keeping Canada's Resources Landlocked And Worthless

It's official, 1) Justin and his merry band of Liberals have just shown who their "favourite child (province)" is as well as 2) provinces can now over-ride the Government of Canada on Federal Issues. I'm tired of paying Federal tax - can the province throw that out the window too? Oh wait, Kathleen receives $20 Billion to $25 Billion from the feds annually.

After having APPROVED the pipeline and previously making comments about "military" clearing the way if warranted (later "apologizing" - a lot of apologies in this Liberal government), where oh where is Natural Resources Minister Jim Carr these days?

Another Head Shaker, For Another Example Of Liberal Math - "Ontario MPP ‘proud’ of province’s debt and ‘would do it again" (National Post)

“We have tripled (the debt) and we’re proud of it, because we can afford it,” MPP Bob Delaney said in comments published by the Mississauga News.

Ontario’s debt, which currently stands at $311.7 billion, is the most held by any sub-sovereign government in the world. It has also grown precipitously under the current Liberal government, who first took government when Ontario’s debt stood at $138.8 billion.
